Cultural Evening 2012

An audience view…….

Cultural Evening 2012.

An annual event, the ‘LTCC Cultural evening’  took place on 29th of September 2012 and it commenced  at 6 p.m. In usual fashion,   It started off with an opening prayer and ‘the lighting of the candle’.  As the first item our youths gave a welcome dance and this was admired by everyone. They also recited a song which brought out their singing talents to the audience.

The choir sang two special songs and we were able to appreciate the melody and the good singing.

A folk dance by our young children aged between 5 years and 9 years did  really elevate the cheering mode to a higher dimension. The children also performed an orchestra which expressed the talents they have at this young age and they also did a sketch which proved their maturity and understanding of play acting.

Our senior members’ participation stimulated and refreshed old memories when they sang two fine Tamil songs which got the audience singing and humming.

Finally, the programme was brought to a close with a  ‘Patti Mandram’  which debated whether ‘a love marriage or an arranged marriage is good in today’s world’.  We had interesting mediator/moderator who gave thought provoking comments and kept the peace between the participated team members.    A vote of thanks was given by the President and ended up with a closing prayer fallowed by fellowship dinner. It was a well organised event and was reminding us of our culture and was enjoyed by all who attended the evening.
