The Dawn of Hope : Living the Risen Life in Christ

The Dawn of Hope : Living the Risen Life in Christ

My dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

There is a simple story of a child who once planted a small seed in a pot. Every day, the child would water it and look at the soil, but nothing seemed to happen. Days passed, and the child grew disappointed, thinking the seed was dead. But one morning, to great surprise, a tiny green shoot appeared. What seemed lifeless beneath the soil had been quietly growing all along.

On this blessed Easter month, we rejoice in that same truth:
Christ is risen! He is risen indeed! Hallelujah!

The resurrection of Jesus reminds us that even when everything appears silent, hidden, or lost, God is at work bringing life out of death. What seemed like the end on Good Friday became the beginning of new life on Easter morning. The resurrection is the rising of hope—hope that renews life, restores faith, and draws us into a deeper relationship with God.

In John 20:1, we see Mary Magdalene coming to the tomb early, while it was still dark. She came carrying grief, expecting to find a sealed grave. But instead, she found the stone rolled away and the tomb empty. In that moment, God revealed a powerful truth: where we see endings, He creates new beginnings; where we see darkness, He brings His light. The empty tomb is not just an event in history—it is a message for all of us today that Jesus is alive, and therefore hope is alive.

As Mary stood there, overwhelmed and confused, something even more personal happened. In John 20:16, Jesus called her by name: “Mary.” That one word changed everything. Her sorrow turned into joy, and her confusion became clarity. This is the beauty of the resurrection—the risen Christ is not distant; He is personal. He knows each one of us by name. Even today, in our struggles, fears, and uncertainties, Jesus speaks into our lives. When we truly hear His voice, our hearts are restored, and our faith is renewed.

But the story does not end there. In John 20:18, Mary went to the disciples and declared, “I have seen the Lord!” The one who came in sorrow became the first witness of the resurrection. She did not keep the good news to herself; she shared it boldly. This is the call of Easter for each of us—not only to believe in the resurrection but to live it and proclaim it. The risen Christ transforms us so that our lives become a testimony of His grace and power.

Dear friends, Easter is not just about remembering an event; it is about experiencing a living reality. Because He lives, our hope is alive, our faith is strengthened, and our lives are given new purpose. Like that hidden seed that rises into life, God is working in us—even when we cannot see it.

So this Easter season, let us live as people of the resurrection—trusting His work, listening to His voice, and boldly sharing His love.
Because Christ is risen—He is risen indeed! Hallelujah!
