Remember and restore Peace!
Dear Friends
Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ
November reminds us always to remember All Saints and all those who have gone before us. We as a church family also recollect the gracious hands of our Lord we experienced throughout this year which we share during the Annual General meeting. It restores us to revisit our future mission strategy to witness Christ’s love.
Remembering Saints on All Saints Day (Nov 1st) always teaches us that there are clouds of witnesses amongst us. Their life stories energize us to move on with our Faith and Hope in Christ-like them. As we read from the book of Hebrews “…since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us” Hebrew 12:1. On the other hand All Souls Day (Nov 2nd) enables us to remember solemnly those who have gone before us from our families and friends. It gives an opportunity to thank God for their lives and enriches our understanding of eternal life to lead a meaningful life too.
Generally, local Churches celebrate Remembrance Sunday on the 2nd Sunday of this month. The exact date is on Saturday 11th November to commemorate those who gave their lives in the two World Wars and also in later conflicts. LTCC celebrates Remembrance Sunday on the 4th Sunday.
What more can we remember and how can we restore Peace? This month I request all of you to observe this Remembrance Day (11th November) as a day of our personal prayer for Peace in the world, particularly in all the unspeakable situation from the Holy Land (Bible Land), unto the Lord. As we are Friends of the Holy Land, please take this day seriously to cry unto the Lord to bring peace in all the war-affected areas in the world.
May the Prince of Peace guide each one of us to sow the seeds of Peace and use us to be an instrument of Peace through all our endeavours every day to bring Peace within our families and our brothers’ and sisters’ families locally and globally.
With Prayers and Peace
