Blessings in Pandemic

Blessings in Pandemic

I greet you all in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

We praise God as we begin our journey together in this 50th year. May every day bring glory to God from what we do personally and as one Church family!

Summer begins, bright sun appears, wet weather cools the earth, beautiful flowers, healthy plants and trees are attracting many beautiful birds and animals in the park and in our own gardens too. We may wonder at this beauty of God’s creation by peeping through windows or having a pleasant walk in the park or outside of our houses! I pray our time this Summer brings more connectivity with the Lord and His creation.

It is important to realise that pandemic in many ways teaches us, and reminds us that God is in control of everything, and his constant creativity continues in and around us. For nearly the last 15 months we are journeying through new and mysterious ways in this unprecedented time. Inevitably we may go through days of darkness and days of brightness both inside and outside of us. Summer gives a great opportunity to practice contemplative spirituality and to grow in our constant connection with our Lord.

Paul says to his congregation at Thessalonica to ‘Pray without ceasing’. But pandemic has brought the over-burden of abnormal workloads even in our Church worship life. Online zoom worship services doubled our planning and preparations compared to the worship services in our worshipping centres.   But the positive side of these workloads is the means to connect ourselves to God continually as well. Whatever the workload we do have, either in domestic or undomestic situations, we are all called to understand the presence of God continually, to be grateful to Him always as we carry His gift of breath, and to praise Him for His marvellous love.

Undoubtedly no one is exempted from the loneliness which pandemic generates, but it is during such periods that we can build our connection with our God together, along with our own families and our Church family, and that makes a big difference in life.

May we grow in the knowledge of His ever-living presence with us every day in this new month!

I wish you all a Happy and blessed month of July.

With blessings,

Revd Jessie Anand, Minister LTCC                                                                          1st July 2021
